FLOE x RADIUS

by

Max & Pablo

Working at the intersection of material research and sculptural practice, Maximilian Beck investigates how casting processes imprint unique traces in glass. His work explores the interplay of light, texture, and raw matter, translating natural transformations into contemporary forms through refined kiln-casting techniques.

The presented work is a collaboration between Maximilian Beck and Pablo Octavio, combining the organic, glass-based FLOE aesthetic with the precise metal construction of the RADIUS collection.

It merges multilayered cast glass with structural clarity, where the raw, heavy cast slab is contrasted by a filigree metal framework, positioning the piece between function and object.

About

Maximilian Beck

Captivated by the infinite variety of casting methods, where every detail in mold-making leaves unique traces, Maximilian Beck explores the interplay between light, texture, and raw matter. His sculptural practice interprets the transformative rhythms of nature alongside traditional artisanal techniques, translating them into contemporary form.

His central material of choice is glass, transformed through refined mold-making and the intense heat of the kiln. Beck’s approach is guided by curiosity and exploration, with continuous material studies forming the foundation of his practice.

Pablo Octavio

A multidisciplinary design studio established in 2023 in Cologne by German-Spanish designer Pablo Octavio Schneider Motjér, operating at the intersection of design and sculptural practice.

Operating within the discourse of contemporary collectible design, the studio challenges the conventional hierarchies between function and expression. Furniture and objects are conceived not merely as utilitarian forms but as spatial protagonists, objects that carry individual narratives, assertive presences defined by biomorphic silhouettes, and tactile, often deliberately raw surfaces.
