Atelier Nienē

the art of hanging coats

Searching for equilibrium between a solid base and a fluctuating upper piece.

The juxtaposition of the two chosen materials enhances the object's balance: Karst stone, hard and dense, shows the traces of millennia within its essence, revealed through fossils.

In contrast, metal is homogeneous and flexible enough to form a linear - almost bidimensional-geometry, intensifying the object's graphic presence.

About

Atelier Nienē is a design studio based in Trieste, Italy.

Founded by two young architects, the atelier explores the intersection of architecture, material, and design, guided by a deep connection to the land.

We weave local stories with influences from around the world, shaping objects that blend tradition and innovation.

Our work revolves around natural materials — our main collection features Karst stone from Italy and Slovenia, while we continue to explore new forms of expression.

Behind every material lies careful research and selection to ensure that each object is ethical, recyclable, and fully traceable.

All of our pieces are crafted by local artisans we know personally and whose work we deeply trust.
