Plane Tree Stool
by
DUBLO studio
The Plane Tree Stool embraces the visible use of fibreboard, which is already well established in the furniture industry and often goes unnoticed hidden behind bonded wood veneers. To protect our forests while maintaining production capability, we need to make greater use of fibreboards and rethink their aesthetic potential. The graphic elements enhancing the surfaces are inspired by the bark of the plane tree, which peels off the trunk in fascinating shapes.
The contrast between the stool‘s clear geometry of minimalist Japanese joinery and the organic graphic forms creates an elegant tension, bringing a touch of nature into the interior space. Light plays a key role here, as its reflection on the surface transforms the perception of the patterns. For every stool we sell we will plant a tree with the project wald.de in Germany.
